Some wedding days just have that feeling to them. You walk in and know within the first hour that it’s going to be one of those days. The kind where everything clicks, the energy is perfect, and you leave still smiling on the drive home. Ears ringing and all. Sarah and Nick’s Estelle Nashville wedding was exactly that kind of day. 🙂

The Estelle is a venue I truly love and I don’t say that about every place I shoot. There’s a warmth and intimacy to it that’s hard to manufacture. Exposed brick, warm lighting, a layout that naturally brings people together. It’s SO cozy, and it just feels like you’re in a super inviting home that makes you want to stay a while.
It also photographs beautifully. The light is warm and consistent and there’s enough character in the space to keep the photos interesting from start to finish. For documentary style wedding photography especially, The Estelle gives you so much to work with. (Also, the bridal suite is a dream.)

The ceremony was officiated by Sarah’s brother, which set the tone for the entire day. Having someone who truly knows you stand up there and speak about your relationship that hits differently than a stranger reading from a script. It was personal and emotional in the best way.

The florals were gorgeous. Lush and warm, exactly right for the venue. Every detail felt like it belonged there, like it was chosen specifically for this space and this couple rather than pulled from a trend board. I feel like I made fifteen different flat lay variations because I just loved the colors and personal details available to me to work with.

The reception was so much fun. Actually that feels like the understatement of the century. Sarah changed into a second dress for the second half of the reception which is always a great move and makes for great photos. There were late night grilled cheeses that were some of the best things I’ve ever eaten at a wedding. The music was full blown millennial. It was incredible.
This is the stuff. This is what I’m there to document.

Sarah and Nick were easy. Relaxed, happy, surrounded by people who love them. And it showed in every single moment of the day. The flow was smooth from start to finish, the energy never dipped, and everyone in that room was fully present for it.
That’s what documentary wedding photography is all about. Just showing up to a room full of love and letting it unfold. Sarah and Nick’s wedding gave me so much to work with because they gave their day everything they had.
If you’re getting married at The Estelle or anywhere in Nashville and you want a photographer who will document your day exactly as it happens, I’d love to connect. Let’s talk.

My couples usually tell me the same thing: having me at their wedding felt easy. Like they could actually be present and soak everything in, knowing someone was paying attention without needing anything from them.
That's the whole point.
You're not hiring me to direct you through a shot list or make you perform for the camera. You're hiring me to document your day as it unfolds. The way your mom looked at you during your vows. The toast that made everyone lose it. The moment you two finally exhaled and realized you were married.
If you're planning something outdoorsy, intimate, or a little adventurous, if you value natural moments, and want a photographer who feels more like a friend than a stranger with a camera, then you're in the right place.
You get to laugh, cry, and actually experience what's happening on your wedding day. I make sure nothing slips by. Your photos feel real because the energy behind them was real. No forcing, no performing. Just you, living your day.
Tell me about your day - where it's happening, what you're envisioning, what matters most to you. I'll get back to you with availability, pricing, and we can figure out if we're a good fit.
I only take on a limited number of weddings each year, so if your date is coming up, don't wait to reach out.
