The farm opens up every spring for a few fleeting weeks, mid-March through mid-April, and it is truly one of the most underrated spots near Nashville for engagement photos.

Macey and Jacob were out there on a bright Sunday morning, but not just for photos. Jacob had a proposal planned, their families were hiding nearby, and none of us were thinking about engagement photos yet. After she said yes and the family came out to celebrate, Macey was still in that dazed, happy, trying-to-process-everything state and it made for the sweetest emotional photos. Nothing is performed. Everything is real.

We stuck around after for their engagement session, and the morning light was doing a lot of the heavy lifting. Sunny, warm, tulips fully in bloom. It’s one of those locations where you almost can’t take a bad photo, which I say as someone who has definitely been to locations where you absolutely can.

Columbia is about an hour south of Nashville, which means Liberty Grace Farms is totally doable as a day trip for couples based in the city. It’s far enough outside of town that it feels like an escape, but not so far that it becomes a whole production. The farm setting gives you texture, color, and a backdrop that actually changes year to year depending on how the season unfolds. No two sessions here look exactly the same.

The window is small. We’re talking roughly mid-March through mid-April, with peak bloom usually landing in late March. If you’re even thinking about booking a session here, don’t wait until the tulips are already up. By then, weekends fill fast and you’re racing the weather. Book first, check the bloom after.
