Engagement sessions are meant to document this specific season of your life - the excitement, the anticipation, the joy of being newly engaged. These sessions are relaxed, fun, and built around how you naturally are together.
I'll give you just enough direction to feel comfortable, but mostly I'm creating space for you to be yourselves. Sessions last up to two hours, which gives us plenty of time to get comfortable and explore one or two locations if it feels right. The goal is for you to forget I'm there, and honestly, most couples tell me afterward that it was way more fun than they expected (actually all of them do).
I've photographed engagement sessions all over Nashville and Tennessee - downtown at golden hour, farms with mountain views, quiet parks, grabbing drinks at a favorite bar. The location matters, but how you feel in it matters more.
This place has everything without feeling overdone. Fields, trails, trees - enough variety that you're not standing in the same spot for an hour. The light in late afternoon and evening is consistently good, and it's usually quiet enough that you're not constantly aware of other people. Fall is beautiful here, but honestly it works any time of year.
A few NASHVILLE ENGAGEMENT SESSION LOCATIONS
Shelby Bottoms Park
The park is actually in Franklin. But it's got big open fields, a barn, and a cute little creek that's perfect for switching up the vibe.The light here is consistently beautiful, especially in spring and summer. But I've had winter sessions here that turned out beautiful as well, so you really can't go wrong.
Harlinsdale Farm
This is one of my go-to spots because the backgrounds are just really good. Rolling hills, open fields, and a wooded section tucked away in the back. It's still technically Nashville but feels way more secluded than most parks. Spring and fall are my faves here.
Bells Bend
If you'd rather be in the city than in a field, we can do that. Brick buildings, rooftop views, a drink at your favorite bar - whatever feels like you. Early morning or a weeknight works best to avoid the Broadway crowds. And if there's a spot that means something to you two, we can build the session around that.
Downtown Nashville
Absolutely beautiful - gardens, sculptures, trees, architecture. The catch is they charge to shoot here, so be sure to factor that in! If you're already members or you don't mind the fee, it's SO worth it. Spring is peak bloom season, but it looks good year-round. Weekends get crowded so if you can swing a weekday, I'd recommend that!
Cheekwood
Right by the Parthenon! Green space, a pond, some trees, and obviously the Parthenon itself. It's easy, central, and works for a quick session. It can get super busy on weekends, so weekday evenings or mornings are better if you want space!

How long are couples and engagement sessions?
Completely. Most couples feel this way at first. You don't need to know what to do, that's my job. I'll guide you when it's helpful and back off when you're in a groove. Just show up as yourselves.
We’re nervous about being photographed, is that okay?
Rather than setting a strict number, I focus on delivering a complete and meaningful gallery that reflects your session fully. If a moment matters, it’s included.
How many images will we receive?
Yes. I’m happy to suggest locations based on light, scenery, and the overall feel you’re drawn to, whether that’s somewhere outdoors, in the city, or at home.
Do you help us choose a location?
Neutrals are ALWAYS a good choice But more important than color is that you feel comfortable and like yourself. If you're not sure where to start or want specific guidance based on the location we're shooting at, I'm happy to help.
