If you’re looking for a Tennessee wedding photographer who can keep up with a fast-moving, genuinely fun wedding day, Alyssa and Cece’s December wedding is a pretty good portfolio entry for that. Alyssa has the kind of energy that sets the tone for an entire room and Cece, a professional soccer player who showed up in custom Adidas wedding shoes, matched it perfectly. This was never going to be a quiet day and it wasn’t.

A December wedding in Tennessee has a specific kind of charm when it’s done right. The light is low and warm, everyone’s in a good mood because it’s the holidays, and there’s something about cold weather that makes people want to be close to each other which is genuinely great for photography. Alyssa and Cece’s day had all of that plus a Christmas parade happening outside the reception venue windows, which is either the best or most chaotic backdrop depending on how you look at it. We’re going with best.
The getting ready energy was exactly what you’d expect from a couple with Alyssa’s personality leading the charge. Loud, fun, a lot of laughter. The kind of morning where you’re already getting good frames before anyone is even dressed.

The custom Adidas detail was one of my favorites of the year. Cece plays professional soccer and instead of traditional wedding shoes they went custom. Which tells you everything you need to know about how they approach things. Details like that are what make a wedding gallery feel specific to the people in it.

The ceremony was sweet and emotional in the middle of all the fun. Alyssa is intense in the best way and when she’s genuine it really lands. The vow moment had the whole room.
Once the reception started, there was a Christmas parade rolling by outside and it felt completely on brand for the day. Festive, a little chaotic, and exactly right.

December gets overlooked as a wedding month and I genuinely don’t understand why. The light during a Tennessee winter is soft and flattering. Venues look incredible with holiday decor already in place, and you get this cozy, intimate energy. If you’re flexible on season and want a wedding that feels warm and festive without having to do much extra work to get there, December is worth considering.
