Weddings at the Cordelle in Nashville
If you’re looking for a downtown Nashville wedding venue that doesn’t feel like every other downtown Nashville wedding venue, The Cordelle is worth a serious look. It’s one of those spaces that has genuine personality and I get so excited every time I’m able to shoot here.
What Sets The Cordelle Apart
The Cordelle sits in Nashville’s historic Rutledge Hill neighborhood, less than a mile from Broadway. But despite the downtown location, it doesn’t feel like the city once you’re inside. The property is built around a restored Victorian home dating back to the late 19th century, and that history shows in the details. Exposed brick, original hardwood floors, and architectural character that a newer venue just can’t replicate.
One of my favorite things about it though is the garden. The 5,000-square-foot outdoor lawn is the largest private green space in downtown Nashville! For couples who want an outdoor ceremony without leaving the city, it’s hard to find anything comparable.
The Spaces Inside The Cordelle
The venue has several distinct spaces that all work together. The Great Hall features crazy high ceilings and a west-facing wall of windows and glass doors that look out onto the garden and covered porch. The Victorian is more intimate, with exposed brick and historic detailing. The Furnished Loft upstairs has a full wet bar, lounge seating, and a private suite. So it’s perfect for getting ready and doubles as a quieter retreat during the reception.
The covered porch connecting the indoor and outdoor spaces is also beautiful. It creates a natural transition between the two and gives you a lot of unique light to work with!
Shooting Weddings at The Cordelle in Nashville
From a photography standpoint, The Cordelle is SO versatile. The garden is beautiful for ceremonies, especially in spring when everything is green and lush. The Great Hall windows bring in a tons of natural light during the day. The Victorian’s interior details make sure you still have plenty to work with once the light outside fades.
The venue also allows outside vendors, which is a big plus. You’re not locked into a preferred list, so the whole team can be people you actually chose 🙂
