The Chapel at Firefly Lane Wedding in Summer

Some wedding days just have a feeling to them from the very start. Natali and Moises’s Chapel at Firefly Lane wedding was one of those. Sweet, unhurried, completely centered around the people in the room. The kind of couple where you could tell within the first ten minutes that everyone there genuinely wanted to be there.

Summer Wedding at The Chapel at Firefly Lane

The Chapel at Firefly Lane in Dickson, Tennessee is a beautiful venue for couples who want something that feels intimate without being too small. The chapel itself has this warm, wooden interior that makes ceremony photos look like they required no effort at all, and the grounds outside give you plenty of room to move around without feeling like you’re on top of each other. Summer light on those fields in the evening is genuinely hard to beat.

If you’re a Tennessee couple looking for a venue that feels a little removed from the Nashville chaos without being a full destination, Firefly Lane is worth a serious look.

The Wedding Day

Natali had a first look with her dad before the ceremony and I will never get tired of photographing those. He got emotional, she handed him a handkerchief she had made for him, and it was exactly the kind of moment that makes this job worth doing. Completely unscripted, completely them.

Then she walked in and surprised the groomsmen with Smirnoff Ices, which tells you everything you need to know about the energy of this wedding. It wasn’t a stiff, formal affair. It was a room full of people who loved each other and weren’t taking themselves too seriously, which is my absolute favorite kind of wedding to photograph.

The ceremony inside the chapel was quiet and emotional in the best way. Moises watching Natali walk in with her father is one of my favorite frames from the whole day. By the time they got to vows the whole room was already a little bit undone.

Portraits on the grounds afterward were easy because they were easy with each other. No awkward pause or “what do we do with our hands,” just two people who were genuinely happy and it showed.

The reception carried the same warmth through to the end. Emotional toasts, a first dance that had people crying, dancing that went until the last song. The kind of night that wraps up exactly the way a good wedding should.

Planning a Summer Wedding at Firefly Lane

Summer in Tennessee is hot, so if you’re considering this venue for a warm weather wedding, lean into the evening timing as much as possible. The golden hour light at Firefly Lane is stunning and you want to be doing portraits during it, not hiding inside waiting for the temperature to drop.

Build in time for the unexpected moments too. The unplanned ones, the first look with a parent, the surprise for the wedding party, the quiet second after the ceremony ends, are always the ones people ask about most when they see the gallery.

My couples usually tell me the same thing: having me at their wedding felt easy. Like they could actually be present and soak everything in, knowing someone was paying attention without needing anything from them.

That's the whole point.

You're not hiring me to direct you through a shot list or make you perform for the camera. You're hiring me to document your day as it unfolds. The way your mom looked at you during your vows. The toast that made everyone lose it. The moment you two finally exhaled and realized you were married.

If you're planning something outdoorsy, intimate, or a little adventurous, if you value natural moments, and want a photographer who feels more like a friend than a stranger with a camera, then you're in the right place.

You get to laugh, cry, and actually experience what's happening on your wedding day. I make sure nothing slips by. Your photos feel real because the energy behind them was real. No forcing, no performing. Just you, living your day.
