If you’re considering a Huntsville Botanical Garden wedding, Parri and Jen’s fall day is a pretty good case for it. Bold colors, a ceremony surrounded by layered greens, and a vintage taxi cab that honestly might be the most fun wedding detail I’ve ever photographed. This one had personality from start to finish.

Huntsville Botanical Garden is one of those venues that does a lot of the work for you. The grounds give you variety without having to travel anywhere, tucked pathways, open garden spaces, water features, and enough greenery to make almost any color palette look intentional. For documentary style photography specifically it’s a dream because there’s always something interesting happening in the background without it being distracting.
Fall was a good call for this one. The light was warm, the garden had that rich end-of-season fullness to it, and Parri and Jen’s color story fit perfectly into all of it.

These two were easy to photograph in the best way. The kind of couple where you don’t have to manufacture anything because the genuine stuff just keeps happening. The ceremony felt personal and unhurried, guests were actually present for it, and by the time we got to portraits the whole day had a really settled energy.
The taxi cab deserves its own paragraph. Coats Classic Cars brought out this bright vintage cab and it completely shifted the vibe of the portrait session in the best way. Suddenly everyone was loose and laughing and we got some of the most joyful images of the entire day out of a prop that took maybe twenty minutes of our time. If you’re planning your own wedding and wondering whether a fun detail like that is worth it: yes. Always yes.
The reception was equally full of color and it showed. Bright tablescapes, ribbon exit, dancing outside as the evening cooled down. It wrapped up the day exactly the way it should have.

The venue is spacious so guest flow is worth thinking through in advance, especially if you’re doing cocktail hour and portraits at the same time. A planner helps a lot here. Build at least an hour for portraits because the property gives you enough variety that you’ll actually want to use it.
And if you’re debating a fun transportation detail or a creative exit, don’t talk yourself out of it. Those are the things people remember and photograph beautifully every single time.
If you’re planning a wedding in the Huntsville or North Alabama area and looking for a photographer who’s going to stay out of your way and bring home a gallery that actually looks like your day, let’s talk.

My couples usually tell me the same thing: having me at their wedding felt easy. Like they could actually be present and soak everything in, knowing someone was paying attention without needing anything from them.
That's the whole point.
You're not hiring me to direct you through a shot list or make you perform for the camera. You're hiring me to document your day as it unfolds. The way your mom looked at you during your vows. The toast that made everyone lose it. The moment you two finally exhaled and realized you were married.
If you're planning something outdoorsy, intimate, or a little adventurous, if you value natural moments, and want a photographer who feels more like a friend than a stranger with a camera, then you're in the right place.
You get to laugh, cry, and actually experience what's happening on your wedding day. I make sure nothing slips by. Your photos feel real because the energy behind them was real. No forcing, no performing. Just you, living your day.
Tell me about your day - where it's happening, what you're envisioning, what matters most to you. I'll get back to you with availability, pricing, and we can figure out if we're a good fit.
I only take on a limited number of weddings each year, so if your date is coming up, don't wait to reach out.
