Best Nashville Wedding Venues

Your venue sets the tone for your entire wedding day. The light, the layout, the vibe – it all matters. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph at most of Nashville’s wedding venues over the years. I know which ones have gorgeous natural light and which ones get a little trickier. I know the ceremony spots I love and the ones that work better at different times of day. I know what these places actually feel like beyond the curated Instagram photos. So here’s my take on what I believe to be the best Nashville wedding venues – what they’re really like to get married at, based on actually being there.

How to Choose Your Nashville Wedding Venue

Before we dive into specific venues, here’s what I’ve noticed actually makes a difference:

Think about your actual guest count. Venues list their max capacity, but that’s usually pretty packed. If you want people to move around comfortably and not feel crammed, it helps to plan for a bit less than the listed max.

Natural light vs. artificial light. This is one of those things that affects your photos more than you’d think. Natural light is so flattering and forgiving. Venues with lots of windows or outdoor spaces just photograph beautifully. That said, I’ve shot at plenty of venues with trickier lighting and made it work – it just requires a bit more creativity.

Indoor/outdoor flexibility. Tennessee weather loves to keep us guessing. If your ceremony is outdoors, make sure the backup plan is something you’d actually be happy with, not just something you’re crossing your fingers you won’t need.

Getting ready space. You’ll spend a few hours getting ready, so it’s worth thinking about whether the space is nice enough for photos and comfortable enough for your whole crew.

Timeline flow. How far apart are the ceremony and reception spaces? Do you need to flip a room? These little logistics can affect how your day feels.

Best Urban Nashville Wedding Venues

The Cordelle

The vibe: Modern, industrial-meets-elegant, lots of natural light

What it’s actually like: The Cordelle is one of those venues that just photographs beautifully. Huge windows, high ceilings, clean modern aesthetic. It’s in the Nations neighborhood, which I love.

The ceremony and reception spaces are separate but connected, which makes the day flow really nicely. The getting ready suites are spacious with great light – I’ve gotten some of my favorite getting ready photos here.

Best for: Couples who want modern elegance without feeling too formal or stuffy.

Lighting situation: Those floor-to-ceiling windows are a dream. Seriously gorgeous natural light.

What Actually Matters When Choosing Your Venue

After photographing at some of the best Nashville wedding venues, here’s what I’ve learned makes the biggest difference:

Pick the venue that feels like you. Not the one that looks best on Instagram or the one your friend loved. The one that actually matches your vibe and what matters to you.

Think about your guests. Is there enough space for everyone to be comfortable? Are the ceremony and reception close together? These logistics affect how the day feels for everyone.

Ask your photographer. If they’ve shot at your venue before, they’ll know the best spots, the lighting situations, and how to make your timeline work seamlessly.

Don’t plan for perfect weather. Tennessee weather loves surprises. Make sure you’re genuinely happy with the backup plan, not just hoping it won’t rain.

Trust your gut. If something feels off when you visit a venue, pay attention to that. The venue that’s perfect on paper isn’t worth it if it doesn’t feel right to you.

Working with a Photographer Who Knows the Best Nashville Wedding Venues

One of the best parts about hiring a local Nashville wedding photographer is that we know these venues. I’ve shot at most of the best Nashville wedding venues multiple times, which means I know:

  • Which ceremony spot has the best light at different times of day
  • Where to go for portraits when weather doesn’t cooperate
  • How long things actually take (like walking from ceremony to reception)
  • The beautiful spots that don’t always show up on the venue’s website

That kind of local knowledge makes your timeline run smoother, helps your photos turn out better, and just makes the whole day easier.

If you’re planning a Nashville wedding and want a photographer who knows your venue (or can help you choose one if you’re still deciding), I’d love to chat.

My couples usually tell me the same thing: having me at their wedding felt easy. Like they could actually be present and soak everything in, knowing someone was paying attention without needing anything from them.

That's the whole point.

You're not hiring me to direct you through a shot list or make you perform for the camera. You're hiring me to document your day as it unfolds. The way your mom looked at you during your vows. The toast that made everyone lose it. The moment you two finally exhaled and realized you were married.

If you're planning something outdoorsy, intimate, or a little adventurous, if you value natural moments, and want a photographer who feels more like a friend than a stranger with a camera, then you're in the right place.

You get to laugh, cry, and actually experience what's happening on your wedding day. I make sure nothing slips by. Your photos feel real because the energy behind them was real. No forcing, no performing. Just you, living your day.

— a photographer inspired by emotion, the outdoors, and human connection.
